So I mentioned previously that Mike is starting a new job. His first day was yesterday and he was going to write this post but was seriously so tired when he got home I could not bring myself to ask him.
Mike was just hired on to be a video editor/producer (I don't actually know his exact title) for the company Imagine Learning. He is so excited. This company makes educational software. They sell their products to schools in the United States and all around the world. Our friend Joel Kongaika works with Imagine Learning as well and has always talked about what a great company they are. When we moved into our house we found out our Bishop works for them too. When Mike was contacted about applying for the job we were not really in the market for a new job but decided it would be in our best interest to look into it further. It took one meeting with people from their company and Mike was SOLD!
He came home beaming. "Kahi, I really want to work with this company." "OK, I said not sure what any of that would mean for our family. As he went through the interview process it was very apparent to both of us that this was definitely a company we wanted to be a part of, if they would have us.
When they offered us the job we were so happy! Mike has always wanted to be a part of video production and although working at the library was a HUGE blessing for us it was not his passion.
Yesterday, he showed up at work not sure what to expect. They threw him right in. He came home and said, I have 5 videos to edit and 2 to shoot before Christmas break. I had a moment of panic and said, there is no way you can do all that be then. Then I remembered, the only thing he is doing at this job is video. He can totally do that!
I am so happy for Mike that he is doing something he is excited and passionate about and thankful that even though the library was not his passion he did a great job there until something else came through. So, here's to NEW JOBS!!!

We know Susan. She started the company after going to BYU-H, and seeing the need there to learn english. She is on the PLC with her husband of course. She gave a presentation this last meeting in November. SHe told us about hiring 70more employees this year. Im so glad you were able to get a job there. It sounded like a great place to work . One with vision and service. Congratulations!!
Paula,
That is so cool. I do not know the story of the company and how it all got started. BYU-H sure does produce some amazing people. How fun!
She also was a stay at home home. With an education. Then started working after the kids all got into school ,college. Then started working. Because what do I do now with my life..? She is amazing. You would love her story. Some day you ought to ask her about it all. She is very hands on..especially the BYU-H connection..
That is so exciting! Congrats Mike!
congrats mike! I went and checked it out and it looks like an amazing product. The page doesn't have any info on purchasing...I think this would be super for my homeschool. How do we find out about it? Thanks.
